Nature & Wildlife

We are fortunate to live in a beautiful area of Saskatchewan where wildlife is abundant.

All photos and videos were taken locally and are courtesy of local wildlife photographer and videographer, Peter Kwasnitza.

Aspen forests and willow groves, grasslands and marshes provide a home for many birds and animals.

White tail deer, moose and elk as well as Canada Geese, Snow Geese and ducks make the area a hunter's mecca.

Coyotes, rabbits, fox, skunks, weasels, raccoons, squirrels, and gophers are commonly seen.

Among the many birds in the area one can find robins, ducks, hummingbirds, flickers, song sparrows, red polls, kildeers, owls, hawks, blue jays, and waxwings at various times of the year. In spring and fall Canada geese and snow geese fly over on their migration route.

Berry pickers can find saskatoon berries, pincherry, chokecherry and hazelnut bushes. Morel mushrooms are a delicacy found for short time in the spring. Within a 40 mile radius lakes and rivers host Walleye and Perch, Northern Pike.
